Are you ready for "A Day at the Circus", this year's most excellent High School Art Day @ PSU?

The Art Department is buzzing with the possibility that you will be joining us from 9am-2pm on one of three dates in 2014:

Friday, September 12th
Friday, October 24th
Friday, November 21st

Due to campus construction, this year we will host the day exclusively at Porter Hall with very limited numbers for each day. We apologize for this limit, but feel this allows more schools to participate during this busy construction time.

September and October are limited to 30 STUDENTS TOTAL, 10 STUDENTS MAX PER SCHOOL not including teacher.

November date will expand to 60 STUDENTS TOTAL, 10 STUDENTS MAX PER SCHOOL not including teacher.

Please register your name and the names of the students you will bring with Tony Fuentez, Associate Director of Admissions via his email:

Registration is first come, first served, so sign up quickly! We will be in touch to confirm your numbers, date and information about days art making fun! If you have questions about registration call 620-235-4262.

We are very excited about this year’s “High School Art Day” and look forward to seeing you and your students here at Pittsburg State University.

Wishing you all the best,

Colby Parson's "Semiotic" now on display in the University Gallery!

Come check out Colby Parson's "Semiotic" in the University Gallery in Porter Hall from August 18 through September 26, 2014!

Hand built ceramic forms mimic the everyday shapes of common scenes from Parsons’ daily life. From a cast iron skillet with eggs, the floor of his bedroom, to spoons in a silverware drawer his composite video projections enhance the already remarkably rendered objects, imbuing them with their own histories and thought processes, taking them to a stance of memory and thought, beyond the physical form.

Please note adjusted gallery hours are 11:00am – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday.
